Basic Aug Com*/MOVE For upper elementary aged children who can benefit from an intensive program, with an emphasis on early augmentative communication usage in conjunction with the MOVE curriculum. Beginning Communication/MOVE* For 3 - 6 year old children who can benefit from an intensive program of total communication, including augmentative communication usage, in conjunctions with a MOVE curriculum. Early Intervention For 1 -3 year old children who can benefit from a half day, center-based program focusing on all areas of child development for 2 - 5 days per week. Environment Enhancement/ ADL Life skills For teenage students, this class works on basic activities of daily living and functional life skills. Included in the curriculum are safety sign recognition, meal preparation, clothing management, community awareness and self-care. Environmental Enhancement/MOVE* For children of all ages who can benefit from a highly structured classroom. Curriculum addresses students' needs to increase environmental awareness and appropriate environmental interactions. Curriculum includes opportunities for sitting, standing, and walking through the MOVE component. Children are grouped by age range. Environmental Exploration For students of all ages whose curriculum focuses on sensory stimulation and environmental interaction. Children are grouped by age range. Inclusion For preschool children targeted for mainstreaming in 1 -2 years. The classroom is located in UCPN's daycare center, where there are integrated activities with the daycare children daily. Staffing ration is 12:1:2. Kindergarten - 2nd grade An academic school-age class focusing on basic skills and concepts, including readiness and beginning programs in reading and math supplemented with science and social studies experiences on a K- 2 level. Kindergarten - 2nd grade + Core Skills An academic school-age class, focusing on basic skills and concepts, including readiness and beginning programs in reading and math supplemented with science and social studies experiences on a K- 2 level. The class also works to increase socialization and language skills through whole class and small group activities. Also incorporated is MOVE , which addresses functional motor development throughout the school day. Pre-Teen/Teen Core Skills For older school-age children who can benefit from a class focusing on basic skills and concepts, including readiness and beginning programs in reading and math supplemented with science and social studies experiences on a developmentally appropriate level. The class also works to increase socialization and language skills through whole class and small group activities. School Age Aug Com* For older teen students who can benefit from an intensive program of total communication, including augmentative communication usage, and PECS. Target Mainstream For preschool children targeted to enter in public school districts in 1 - 3 years. The curriculum aims at preparing the child to enter public school at the age of 5 or 6. Target Mainstream for Spanish Dominant Children For Spanish-dominant children targeted to enter classes in public school districts in 1 -3 years. Curriculum is taught using a language approach that incorporates both Spanish and English throughout the daily lessons. Teen Academics For older school-age children who can benefit from an intensive academic program including reading, math, science, social studies and health. Upper Elementary Academics For school-age children ages 8 -12 focused on a developmentally appropriate, academic curriculum, including basic skills and concepts, readiness, and elementary programs in reading , math, social studies, science and health. Children may be users of alternate means of communication and have the potential for independent communication. Younger Language Enhancement For preschool children who can benefit from a language-rich environment focused on maximizing language development.
